Description
Our 8x2 Treated Timber C24 Joists are ideal for use in structural framing, as joists and beams, and a variety of other uses due to it’s sturdy C24 strength grading. Sourced from FSC or PEFC sources, our 8x2 timber is kiln-dried for straightness and strength, and are regularised to achieve an even and smooth finish. This timber is approx 45mm x 195mm when finished.
- Available in 2.4m, 3.6m & 4.8m lengths.
- High-pressure treated (to UC3/UC2 standards or equivalent, using modern preservatives like Tanalith E or similar) – provides long-lasting resistance to fungal decay, insect attack, and weathering, making it ideal for both indoor and outdoor applications (above ground contact).
- Kiln-dried – reduces moisture content for greater dimensional stability, reduced warping/twisting, and enhanced overall strength and durability.
- Regularised with eased corners – smooth, consistent finish that's safer and more comfortable to work with; minimises splinters, improves paint/stain adhesion, and gives a neater appearance.
- Lightweight yet strong – C24 graded for structural uses.
- FSC Certified – responsibly sourced from sustainable forests for eco-conscious projects.
For proper installation, use exterior-rated fixings and hangers compatible with treated timber, re-seal all cut ends and notches with an appropriate end-grain sealer, and ensure the timber is only used in dry internal or covered external locations above ground.
Important: Finished dimensions are typically slightly under nominal sizes approximately 2mm less in thickness and 5mm less in width. Always seal cut ends and notches with a suitable end-grain sealant.
