In many cases, yes. Modern OSB3 is manufactured to meet or exceed the structural performance of plywood in roofing and wall applications. Because it is made of compressed layers of wood strands oriented in specific directions, it is highly resistant to warping, delamination, and knots, providing a more uniform strength across the entire sheet.

You should opt for T&G edges if you are installing flooring or flat roof decking. The interlocking edges allow the boards to slot together tightly, distributing weight evenly across the joints and eliminating the need for noggings (extra support timber) under every single edge, which saves time and material.

While OSB is primarily a structural material, its "industrial" texture is increasingly popular for interior design. It can be painted, though we recommend using a high-quality primer first, as the wood strands are thirsty. For a natural look, a clear floor varnish or wax can highlight the unique strand pattern while providing a hard-wearing surface.

The quantity varies depending on the thickness typically, a full pallet of 18mm OSB3 contains 50 sheets, while thinner 9mm will contain 100 or 11mm packs will contain 82.
