What does "TG4" mean for these boards?

TG4 stands for Tongue & Groove on all four sides. This allows the boards to slot together seamlessly on both the long and short edges, creating a tight, continuous surface that significantly increases the structural integrity of the floor compared to square-edged boards.

When should I choose Tongue & Groove (T&G) OSB?

You should opt for T&G edges if you are installing flooring or flat roof decking. The interlocking edges allow the boards to slot together tightly, distributing weight evenly across the joints and eliminating the need for noggings (extra support timber) under every single edge, which saves time and material.

Why is the board width 625mm instead of the standard 1220mm?

This "handy" width is specifically designed for easier handling and installation in tight spaces like lofts or upstairs rooms. The 625mm width is much easier to move through joists and doorways while still being wide enough to cover a large area quickly.

Can these boards be used as a flat roof deck?

Yes, absolutely. Because these are OSB3 (Moisture Resistant) and T&G, they are the industry standard for flat roof decking. The interlocking edges provide a flat, stable base for felt, EPDM rubber, or GRP fiberglass systems, and the OSB3 rating ensures they can handle the humidity levels found in roofing applications.
